How do I turn a FloorPlanner project into a SketchUp model?
Paste the link of your published project on the homepage, or upload the .fml file. Check the free preview and pay. We email you the .dae file, which you import in SketchUp with File → Import.
Which links and files can I use?
The share link of a published FloorPlanner project, or an .fml file exported from FloorPlanner. Private projects need to be published first, or exported and uploaded.
How much does a conversion cost?
A single conversion costs €9. For several projects there is a 5-pack for €39 (€7.80 per conversion). For regular use, Pro is €99/year with unlimited conversions.
How do I open the model in SketchUp?
In SketchUp, choose File → Import and select the .dae file. This works in SketchUp Go, Pro and Studio, both on the web and on desktop.
Why does the file not open in SketchUp Free or on iPad?
SketchUp Free (web) and SketchUp for iPad cannot import COLLADA (.dae) files. You need SketchUp Go, Pro or Studio. Check which plan you have before you pay.
What happens to my project file?
We use your project or uploaded .fml file only to build your model. Files are stored encrypted, are not shared with third parties and are deleted after 30 days.
What if the conversion fails?
The free preview shows up front whether we can read your project. If you paid and the conversion still failed, email support@floorplannertosketchup.com and we will fix it or refund you.
Are furniture and materials included?
No. The model contains the building shell: walls, door and window openings, floor slabs and named groups per floor and room. Furniture, materials and finishes from FloorPlanner are not carried over.
Is the model at the right scale?
Yes. The model uses real units (metres) taken from your FloorPlanner project. Wall lengths, thicknesses and heights match your plan.
How is the model organised in SketchUp?
Each floor is its own group, and each room is a named group inside it, using the room names from FloorPlanner. Hide a floor to work on the one below it.
Can I convert several projects?
Yes. The 5-pack covers 5 projects within 6 months, and Pro is unlimited for a year. Each model is delivered by email.
